Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has made a donation to the Walewale Government Hospital in the North East Region of Ghana.
Hon Nabla Sulemana, former District Chief Executive (DCE) for the West Mamprusi District donated the items on behalf of the Vice President to the facility which included; 40 modern hospital beds and 3 incubators valued at several thousands of Ghana cedis.
He entreated the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital to ensure that the items are used for the intended purpose to improve on healthcare delivery in the area and assured them of government’s commitment to the wellbeing of residents.
“I am on behalf of the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia donating these items to the facility to improve on the healthcare delivery of the Municipality. I implore you to ensure that the items are used for the intended purpose and wish to assure you that the New Patriotic Party government is committed to the wellbeing of the people of Mamprugu at larged”, he revealed at a short ceremony on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
The Medical Director of the Walewale Government Hospital, commended the Vice President for the gesture indicating that he has been regular with his support to the facility and prayed for him.
In his view, other indigenes from the area must emulate the shining example of the Vice President who is also on record to have provided potable water among other things to the facility in his personal capacity.
This also comes at a time over 78 communities have benefited from the streetlights projects under auspices of the Vice President who is a native of the area and has been instrumental in ensuring that the area is developed.
Recently, donated towards the completion of the Catholic priest’s rectorate at the St Paul’s Catholic Church at Walewale in the North East region.
Dr Bawumia who hails from Walewale , made the donation of GH¢20,000 to the church following a fundraising drive for well-meaning individuals to support the project.
