The sole contender for the Gushegu Constituency withdraws from the NPP Parliamentary Primaries.
In a letter to the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party and sighted by Joynewsroom, Mahama Osman, stated that he arrived at the decision after a very broad consultation and deep introspection.
He appealed to the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party to withdraw his application and delete his profile on the Notice of Poll and Ballot Paper for the elections.
“I have consulted widely with my immediate family, campaign team members, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, Gushegu Constituency and Northern Regional executives of the party and have come come to the firm resolve that it will be in the interest of the party that a neutral person emerges to fly the flag of the NPP as our parliamentary candidate.” Mahama Osman stated in the letter.
It will be recalled that the sitting member of parliament for the constituency, Dr Ziblim Iddi also pulled out in a similar fashion. Information gathered is that a young and resourceful party bigwig is lacing his boots to pick up the vacant role in the constituency.
