The Council of Elders of the National Democratic Congress has rendered the decision of the party’s NEC to charge GHS 400,000 as filing fee null and void.
The Council at its meeting today decided the following;
1. Extended the sale of forms to Saturday the 8th of December, 2018
2. Postponed the elections to 26th Jan 2019
3. Reduced the filing fee from Ghs400 to Ghs300,000.
The decision by the Council of Elders is to give all aspirants a fair ground to be able to operate and also thinks the GHS 400,000 filing fee is outrageous and against the basic tenets of social democracy.
The council also urged the NEC to be objective and fair in its dealings with all aspirants.
