Deputy CoS Aliu Fawaz: Tamale youth poised to break the 8

The deputy Chief of Staff visited and interacted with the youth of Tamale to get first-hand information about their concerns, challenges, observations and needs.

The deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Aliu Fawaz, says the youth of Tamale in the Northern Region, are poised to rally behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its quest to “break the 8” by winning election 2024.

Fawaz on 26 and 27 February 2022, visited and interacted with the youth of Tamale to get first-hand information about their concerns, challenges, observations and needs.

In a Facebook post after his visit, Fawaz said “while in Tamale over the weekend to attend to some family commitments, I took time off to visit various youth groups, opinion leaders and elders”.

“It was a great opportunity to explain current government policies, and efforts being made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to deal with the challenges confronting the country,” Fawaz posted.

“I also enjoyed the useful exchanges of opinions from my interactions. Hopefully we will all work together to address many of the issues and break the 8,” he continued.

According to the deputy chief of staff, issues such as the welfare of members of NPP youth groups in the North, and the effective communication of the vision of President Akufo-Addo for the North as well as his achievements, were some of the issues that were raised by the groups he interacted with.

The ongoing impasse in Parliament over the passage of the electronic levy bill (E-Levy), apparent financial challenges in the country and the urgent need for unity at all levels of membership and leadership of the NPP are some others issues that came up, to which, he took advantage to address the concerns of the groups.

Among the groups Fawaz interacted with are Kandaha base, popular office NPP group, Young Liberals, Big Six, Zobgeli, and Same Minds (Aboabo). Elders and opinion leaders of the NPP in Tamale, such as Alhaji Wofa, Alhaji Bawa, Alhaji One One, are among the people he interacted with.
