The Public Procurement Authority (PPA) has been badly exposed by NPP member and musician Kwame A-Plus over a fake figure they put up on their website as being the cost for auditing and reviewing contracts signed under the erstwhile John Mahama government.
The PPA has amended the figure on its website after the blast by APlus such that a contract to KPMG which was initially captured as GhS 33,768, 560 million has now been changed to GhS 337,685.60 which experts with knowledge on the issue says is unpardonable even if it is to be assumed to be a mistake.
Kwame A-Plus is also questioning the sense in procuring the services of KPMG at whatever amount when the country has a functioning Audit Service who are paid and resourced to do the same work.

CRY MY BELOVED COUNTRY CRY!!!!!
The Audit Service of Ghana is mandated to audit:
1. The Public Accounts of Ghana and of all public offices, including the courts, the central and local government administrations, the Universities and public institutions
2. The accounts of any public corporation or other body or organization established by an Act of Parliament
3. The Bank of Ghana
4. The accounts of a statutory corporation, a state enterprise or a public commercial institution operating under its own enactment.
So can someone explain to me why SSNIT (sic) has to pay over 33 million Ghana cedis to KPMG for auditing when the Ghana Audit Service would have done it for free? So what is the job of the auditor general and his staff if we have to pay all this money to a private audit firm?
Our leaders are very wicked ooo. In fact majority of them are evil. When we say change it also means strengthening state agencies and institutions to function properly. Not building a cathedral to give an impression that you know or love God than anyone.
When you see an audit service car you’ll cry. Their offices basaaa. If one-forth of the said amount was used to resource the Ghana Audit Service they would have executed this job and be able to undertake audits of all other state agencies and institutions efficiently.
So what? All other institutions are spend same or more? Ghanaians work for 30 to 40 years and are paid 200 Ghana cedis as pension a month. And this is what you use their money for. Social Security and National Insurance Trust MMT one by one. Mboaaa!!!
