New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Officer for the Ashanti Region, Dennis Kwakwa, has resigned from his position.
In a resignation letter dated September 18, 2023, and addressed to the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Kwakwa noted that he loves and cherishes his role as a Regional Communications Officer, but he has had to take the difficult decision to resign in fulfillment of requirements to enable him to pursue other political ambitions.
“Though I love and cherish working in such a role, it is a requirement I have to fulfill in order to pursue other political goals in my political career,” he stated
He expressed gratitude to the Ashanti Regional Executive for having given him the opportunity to serve in that capacity in the interest of the party.
New rules issued earlier this year by the party required all members serving in executive positions to resign if they were interested in running for Parliament.
Mr. Kwakwa is rumored to be interested in contesting the Parliamentary primaries of the NPP for Constituencies with sitting NPP Members of Parliament.
