The electoral commission of Ghana has reverted to its old logo which was changed by the former electoral commissioner, Madam Charlotte Osei in 2016.
In a memo signed by the current chairperson of the electoral commission, Madam Jean Mensa, she indicated reasons for restoring the original logo.
Below is the full statement from the Electoral Commission;
FROM : *CHAIRPERSON*
SUBJECT: *RESTORATION OF ORIGINAL LOGO OF THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION*
DATE : 4TH DECEMBER, 2018.
I bring you warm greetings from the Commission. This comes to inform you that with effect from today the 4th of December, 2018 the original logo of the Electoral Commission which bears the Coat of Arms and has a ballot box showing the hand casting it’s vote has been restored.
The core values of the Electoral Commission, namely Integrity, Fairness and Accountability have from today also been restored.
All communications from the Electoral Commission must from today, be made on the letter head bearing the original logo of the Commission as appears on the face of this letter head. Reams of letter heads are to be picked up from the stores of the Commission.
Kindly ensure that the most recent logo is removed from the buildings and properties of the Commission. This will subsequently be replaced.
Let the bells of Accountability, Fairness and Integrity ring throughout the Commission.
