Former President Mahama has told his party delegates in the Nandom constituency that he is like “fire burning trees”.
The former President is campaigning in the Upper West region for his party’s nomination ahead of the 2020 presidential elections.
Speaking to party faithfuls, Mr. Mahama said that he is the only candidate the NPP is afraid of and asked delegates to choose him in the December primary of the NDC. Likening himself to fire, the former Ghanaian leader indicated that he is “capable of burning everything”.
Recounting his time in office, Mr. Mahama told delegates that he performed very well in government. He cited roads and other infrastructure projects he embarked upon.
Mr. Mahama also condemned the NPP for what he termed “failure to fulfill their promises”.
The NDC goes to polls in December to elect a presidential candidate. So far, 13 individuals have declared their intention to lead the NDC.
