Management of the National Service Secretariat (NSS), has rolled out service postings and deployment processes for the 2019/2020 service year.
Service personnel can access their posting portals from Monday, July 15, 2019, but can only print and begin registration from Friday, 19th July 2019.
Addressing the media at a press conference Monday, July 15, 2019, at the Secretariat in Accra, the Executive Director of the National service scheme Mustapha Ussif said, “For the 2019/2020 service year, a total of 77,962 National Service personnel have so far been deployed.”
Adding that 66,348 personnel representing 85.1 percent have been deployed to various institutions in the public sector while 11,614 representing 14.1 percent are to serve in the private sector.
The scheme has also deployed 6,000 personnel to aid the Agriculture sector with the aim of serving on the Planting for Food and Jobs policy as well as 2000 personnel to the Entrepreneurship programme in poultry.
“We have also considered issues such as acute health conditions, married women, people on study leave and persons who are physically challenged and deployed them accordingly,” Mr. Ussif added.
Meanwhile, personnel are expected to go through their posting registration at Regional centers from Monday 22nd July through to Friday 30th August 2019 and expected to begin their mandatory service on Monday, September 2, 2019.
As part of the secretariat’s efforts to keep the registration process devoid of guile and activities of conmen, Mr. Ussif has admonished prospective personnel to refrain from getting in touch with unscrupulous persons who may offer service postings in exchange for money.
