These officers include Director of Communications and five deputies; two deputy general secretaries; two deputy national organisers; two deputy national women organisers; two deputy youth organisers and two deputy Nasara co-ordinators.
YB for communications
Information available to the Daily Statesman indicates that the Member of Parliament for Adenta, Yaw Buaben Asamoah, is expected to be confirmed as the Director of Communications. The private legal practitioner affectionately called YB is a former deputy communications director of the NPP.
The affable YB will be supported in his work by five deputies. Sources at the party’s headquarters yesterday indicated to the Daily Statesman that the names being considered for the deputy positions include Richard Ahiagbah. Mr Ahiagbah, who lost his bid to become the party’s General Secretary to John Boadu, is the Director of Communications at the Chicago, US, branch of the NPP.
Others are Kofi Agyepong, a journalist of many years of practice who has played instrumental role in the party’s communication outfit for a long time; Kamal Deen Abdulai, the immediate past Nasara Co-ordinator who lost his bid to become the National Youth Organiser to Henry Nana Boakye(Nana B); Joyces Zimpare, the immediate past Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organiser who failed to win the National Women’s Organiser position; and Richard Nuamah, who was the campaign spokesperson of the party’s National Chairman, Freddie Blay.
Obiri-Boahen still in
The Daily Statesman can also report that Nana Obiri-Boahen, a Sunyani based private legal practitioner, is expected to get the nod to remain in office as a deputy general secretary to offer critical support to General Secretary John Boadu. Also expected to join him in that role is Nii Bii Ayibonte, a former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio. He is an engineer and a private legal practitioner.
For the position of deputy national organisers, names available to the Daily Statesman include Maxwell Kofi Lugudor, NPP’s 2016 parliamentary candidate in the Ketu South constituency of the Volta Region, and Rasheed Konlaabig, who is the Brong-Ahafo Regional Organiser of the party.
The Daily Statesman can also report that the President of the Loyal Ladies of the NPP, Perpetual Lomokie Akwanda, is expected to become one of the deputies to the party’s National Youth Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B).
Also, Hajia Saudatu Saeed, the immediate past acting National Women Organiser, is expected to retain her original position as a deputy national women organiser. She was appointed the acting National Women Organiser after her former boss, Otiko Afisa Djaba, was appointed Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
