Madam Anita De Soso ,the immediate Vice Chairperson of NDC is concerned all aspirants from the Volta Region have lost out in the party’s 9th National Delegates Congress.
Anita De-Soso said it is a cause for worry that “there is no Voltarian in the game…”, urging the party to subject the outcome to deep thinking.
However, information trickling in has it that the whims and caprices of former President John Dramani Mahama have been achieved.
Prior to the elections, many a political pundit saw the signs clearly written on the wall. His coup de tat against aspirants who hail from the Volta Region has been a tremendous success.
The results from the congress show that Abodakpi has lost out in the chairmanship race to one of Mahama’s favourites, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.
In the communications slot, Fred Agbenyo who also comes from the Volta Region has also lost to Sammy Gyamfi who was bankrolled by the former president.
Koku Anyidoho also lost to Mahama’s sponsored candidate, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
What this means is that the former president’s evil machinations against candidates from the region that gives the NDC its biggest votes have worked to perfection.
It is strange why a region that happens to be the party’s stronghold can suffer in the hands of the former president in such a fashion.
Clearly, the move to reduce the influence of the Volta Region in the affairs of the NDC is being pursued with vigour by the ex-president and his assigns.
