First Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Sofo Azorka has allegedly physically assaulted the Northern Regional Treasurer Hajia Shamima.
The incident took place yesterday about 4pm Thursday at the ongoing vetting of parliamentary aspirants of the largest party at the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale.
A source disclosed to TamaleOnline News and monitored by Joynewsroom, Mr Azorka ordered one of his boys identified as Abdul Somed to ‘gift’ a hefty slap on the female executive which has temporarily blinded her right eye.
According to the sources, Hajia Shamima’s only crime to warrant a dirty slap was due to a misunderstanding with her colleague executive and the Northern Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Hajia Jamila Amadu.
“Hajia Shamima was rushed to the hospital for treatment at the hospital because she was badly injured in the right eye as a result of the assault,” the source added.
Hajia Jamila is alleged to be the girlfriend to the former Northern RegionL Chairman of the NDC for quite sometime.
